Yuri is a famous Mexican singer, actress, and TV host. Yuri was born Yuridia Valenzuela Canseco in Veracruz, Mexico on January 6, 1964. Until May 2007, Yuri was the host of Objetivo Fama a talent show produced by Univision/Telefutura that is broadcasted to the United States and Puerto Rico. Univision fired Yuri as the host of the show for unknown reasons, but the show is currently being pointed as a fraud. Yuri is presently the host of the Televisa series Noche de estrellas.

Brujeria is a Mexican rock/death metal band whose name comes from a Spanish word meaning witchcraft. Their Satanic, narcotic, and masked attitude have been their green-card to success, although they have recently performed live at locations across the United States and Latin America. The have been nominated at the Latin Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album in 2000.

Emilio Rolando Villazón Mauleón was born on February 22, 1972, in Mexico City and is a Mexican tenor. He is currently in international demand as an opera singer, and also maintains an active recording career. He has recorded four solo CDs with Virgin Classics and is additionally featured, along with Patrizia Ciofi and Topi Lehtipuu, on the CD recording of Il Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda by Claudio Monteverdi, conducted by Emmanuelle Haïm.

For the rest of the 2007 season Mr Villazón has cancelled all his performances, including his debut recital at the Carnegie Hall and Roméo et Juliette at the Metropolitan Opera, due to health problems.

Paquita la del Barrio is the stage name of Francisca Viveros Barradas, a Mexican singer of rancheras and other Mexican styles. She was born in Alto Lucero, Veracruz in 1947 and started her career in Ciudad de México in 1970. In her songs she takes a stance against Mexico’s sexist male culture, which has made her popular especially with female audiences.

Ariadna Thalía Sodi Miranda, popularly known as Thalia, was born on August 26, 1971 in Mexico City, Mexico. She is a Mexican singer and actress with multi Latin Grammy and Latin Billboard nominations. In Latin America, she is regarded as the Queen of Telenovelas because her telenovelas were highly successful even in non Latin America countries and watched by almost a billion people around the world, according to Thalia.com. She has won numerous awards in Mexico as a singer and actress from different important award giving bodies. She is also a businesswoman, fashion designer, record producer and writer.

Alicia Villarreal whose birth name is Martha Alicia Villarreal Esparza, was born on August 31, 1974, in Monterrey, Mexico, and is a Mexican singer. Alicia Villarreal performed for the highly televised Selena Vive, where she performed Si Una Vez. She later released this song along with 2 other new songs Punalada Trapera and Ya No Hay Amor on a dual disc of the album Cuando El Corazón Se Cruza. The dual disc also contained 5 remixes to her previous songs and a collection of all her music videos. The dual disc was released in Mexico in 2005. There is still no release date set for United States. She has also released a fragrance in Mexico.

Ximena Sariñana, whose real name is Ximena Sariñana Rivera was born on October 29, 1985 and is a famous Mexican singer and actress. Ximena is the daughter of Fernando Sariñana and screenwriter Carolina Rivera, niece of famous Mexican actress Angélica Rivera and producer José Alberto Castro, brother of Verónica Castro.

Maria de luz Flores was born on May 23, 1906 and passed away on June 25, 1944. She is better known as Lucha Reyes, and was a famous Mexican mariachi singer. She was a native of Guadalajara, Jalisco. She used the last name Reyes as a homage to her stepfather.

Banda Sinaloense el Recodo de Don Cruz Lizárraga, often referred to as Banda el Recodo or simply La Banda Sinaloense (in Spanish, the Sinaloan Band) is one of the best-known Mexican groups. Since its founding in 1938, it has been under the direction of the Lizárraga family.

El Gran Silencio is a Mexican rock band from Monterrey, Mexico that blends a variety of rock influences with traditional Mexican musical forms. Current band members include brothers, Cano Hernandez, Tony Hernandez, Issac “Campa” Valdez, Julian “Moco” Villarreal, and Esquivel Alvarado.
