Cuca is a Mexican Rock & Roll band from Guadalajara, Jalisco, México formed in 1989 by musician and painter José Fors (vocals). Their first official concert according to the band was February 14, 1990. Their first album, Invasion de los blátidos set them apart from any other Mexican rock band, since the album contained irreverent, humorous, curse-word laden lyrics and aggressive sound, that at the time were not expected in Mexican music.

Reik is a Latin Grammy-nominated Mexican band from Mexicali, Baja California formed by Jesús Alberto Navarro Rosas (lead vocals), Julio Ramírez Eguía (guitar/background vocals), and Gilberto Marín Espinoza (guitar). The group’s name actually means “rake” (as in raking the guitar’s strings), but the band wanted their Mexican listeners to pronounce it correctly, hence, Reik.

Sin Bandera is a Latin pop duo based in Mexico that consists of Leonel García, and Noel Schajris. They have become one of the most popular artists since they debuted with their self titled album Sin Bandera in 2001.

Timbiriche is the name of a Mexican group that debuted on April 30, 1982 during a broadcast of the news program Hoy Mismo. Timbiriche included six children, most of whose parents were famous actors/singers/composers. The name Timbiriche is the Spanish (Latin American Spanish) version of the game Dots and Boxes. Lu was a Mexican pop duo formed by Mario Sandoval and Paty Cantú, both from Guadalajara, Mexico. Paty was studying Law, but she changed to Music when they were signed to Warner Music Mexico. They have received moderate success in the Spanish-speaking world, with songs like Por Besarte and Duele.

Fobia is a Mexican rock band from Mexico City, whose career started in 1987, a time when there wasn’t much promotion of rock music in Mexico. After many years, Fobia decided to regroup, bringing de Lozanne, de la Cueva, Vásquez, and guitarist Paco Huidobro back and adding Cha! on bass. In 2006 they released their first studio album in ten years, and fifth overall, Rosa Venus, on Sony International.

Belanova is a Latin Grammy-award winning Mexican synth-pop band from the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco. The group consists of lead vocalist Denisse Guerrero, programmer and keyboardist Edgar Huerta, and Ricardo “Richie” Arreola on bass. The band was formed in 2000, but they were not signed under a record company until 2002, signing under Virus Records, Mexican Dance Label, owned by Universal Music.

Cartel de Santa is a Mexican band from the “barrio (hood) de la Aurora” Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, Mexico. Cartel de Santa is made up of lead vocalist Eduardo Davalos de Luna aka “Babo”, MC Dharius, Rowan Rabia(beatmaker), and DJ Agustín (for live shows). Cartel de Santa Vol.IV is going to be released on November 16, 2008.

Control Machete is a Mexican hip hop group from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. Its members are Fermin IV, Patricio “Pato” Chapa Elizalde, and Toy Kenobi (Antonio “Toy” Hernández). However, Fermin IV left the band in 2002 and released a solo album, Boomerang. Control Machete was also featured very prominently on the 2005 game Total Overdose and again on the 2007 Xbox 360 game Crackdown and also in the PC game Scarface: The World Is Yours.
